Introducing CoAngler's Garage - A New Web Resource for the Hardcore Bass Tournament CoAngler
Feb 10, 2025
Welcome to CoAngler’s Garage, a new web resource for the hardcore bass tournament coangler. I’m glad you’re here!
We come to this crazy sport for different reasons.
Some of us are young guns focused on picking up some knowledge before a jump to the pointy end of the boat in the next year or two.
Others (like me!) share that same burning passion for fishing, but may have life obligations and life situations – parenting or work commitments, etc. – that don’t allow enough practice time to be competitive from the front of the boat. However, we’ve realized that coangling allows us to scratch that competitive itch, have fun, and still fish at a (relatively) high level.
Some previously fished as pros/boaters, but with advancing age see coangling as a great way to stay connected with the tournament community, have fun, and compete without the hassle of running a boat.
If you are a coangler, you likely enjoy the available content, information, and social media posts in the bass tournament space. However, you probably at times wish that more of it was focused on the most important topics to you and your tournament success as opposed to the stuff that only matters to those at the pointy end of the boat.
After all, the 15 bazillionith article on how to put forward-facing sonar to work for you or the subtle differences between every company's clone ballhead "minner" may make you mutter, “FFS – For F*$&’S Sake”. More on that in a future post.
Likewise, as coanglers, while we are probably interested in the article about how to be more effective flipping grass, we certainly would be more interested in information about what to do in a tournament when the person flipping grass is the vacuum cleaner running the trolling motor in front of you!
While an article about how to fish a jig or swimbait on a deep isolated rockpile or brushpile may be interesting to most of us, there is - of course - less information available about what you should consider doing in a tournament when your pro is doing that.
I’ve created CoAngler’s Garage as a place that will have a laser focus on the serious tournament coangler.
The hardcore backdeck basshead will not be a second-class citizen here.
Most importantly, CoAngler's Garage will be a place where you can focus on the key things that should be goals for all of us:
- Having Fun (both on the water and interacting with other coanglers online)
- Learning (especially from each other)
- Being Successful
I’ll share more on each of those points in the coming days, but for now, thanks for stopping by.
I look forward to seeing you again soon!
-Matt
